The O-drive is an internal Zuyd network drive for the storage of research data. Each research centre has its own folder. Within this folder project folders can be created and it is possible to control the access rights per folder. This is managed by Team Research Support. Within the project folder you are free to create folders and a folder structure.
All the data you upload to the O-drive are stored on two geographically dispersed servers in the Netherlands. To guarantee security, an extra backup scheme has been set up.
Do you want to use the O-drive?
Request access from one of the members of Team Research Support. This can be done by email.
Please include the following information:
Off-site Zuyd, large (visual) files may take longer to open. The connection from the external location to the Zuyd network is limited, so it takes longer to transport large files over this data connection.
Files that have not been opened for 30 days or more are moved to a kind of 'archive'. This can be recognized by a gray cross through the icon:
Files can be opened as usual but it takes a bit longer the first time, about 2 to 3 minutes; the file is taken out of the 'archive' again. The gray cross disappears and opening the file the next time will be faster (if within 30 days).
Once access to the O-drive has been activated for you, you still have to add the O-drive to your network.
Please note: if you don't use a Zuyd-laptop, this is only possible on site, on a Zuyd computer!
