Step-by-step plan practice-oriented research

Introduction

You are going to carry out a (graduation) research study, with or without humans. Study programmes and research centres consider it important that you are well-prepared when starting your research and that you are aware of a number of rules that every researcher must adhere to before beginning. These rules sometimes have a legal character, such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Other rules are related to 'good conduct' agreed to in the research world, for example with regard to informing research subjects and being transparent about the execution of the research.

In this step-by-step plan, the most important issues are addressed. A lot of additional information can be found in the research portal on Zuyd library's website. The step-by-step plan regularly refers to LibGuides in this portal.

The step-by-step plan also refers to two documents that you need to go through and sign during the preparation phase of your research:
- Declaration Netherlands code of conduct for research integrity
- Declaration of confidentiality and personal data protection
