Are you dealing with a funder and has your research proposal been approved? Then you are obliged to write a data management plan.
Even if this is not mandatory, it is still strongly recommended you write a data management plan. You need to think about all aspects of data management prior to your research, such as where and how to store your data.
It makes research data management concrete and practicable and saves you time, work and money.

Research and data collection must be carried out with due care following the framework of the Netherlands Code of Conduct for Research Integrity and the GDPR. Read and sign the statements below and add both signed documents as an appendix to your research proposal. This can also be addressed by the research centre; the members need only sign the declarations once, they can be saved on the O-drive, for example.
Possible mandatory actions
Does your research include human subjects? Then your research may be subject to the Medical Research Involving Human Subjects Act (WMO) or you may be obliged to contact a Medical Research Ethics Committee (MREC). Check this with the decision tools, which can be found in this LibGuide.
